The running series comes to an end!

Well after 3 runs I have completed my set of 3 runs in aid of The Lighthouse Orphanage and their wonderful children.  It has been a wonderful experience and I'm extremely happy and proud to say myself and my sponsors raised over $1000 in aid of this charity!!

It has been an amazing and fun experience training, running and partaking in these races with memories of the visit Karin & I made last year in Cambodia.  These funds, I'm sure, will be put to good use in order to support, educate & feed these wonderful kids.

Jervis bay half-marathon - done!!

Certificate from the Husky half marathon in Jervis bay, really happy with the time - next looking to improve or at least finish the Melbourne marathon in 5 weeks time!

Remember: plenty of time to get those donations in, I won't be transferring the sponsorship to Cambodia until late-October.

Training is going well and now I'm really looking forward to this run next weekend, can't think of a better place to do it! Jervis Bay is a beautiful and relaxed part of Australia, so looking forward to a tough test followed swiftly by some beach relaxation! Welcome to the Lighthouse Orphanage!

Hi all!

Welcome to the Lighthouse Orphanage fundraising page where I'll be updating my progress in raising money for the children's orphanage.

Last year while Karin and I were traveling through Cambodia, we stopped in Phnom Penh where we came across the amazing Lighthouse Orphanage organisation who look after and teach these wonderful children. The organization only survives by donations & volunteers who work there, with most facilities such as beds, tables, chairs and even buildings being donated by their supporters. We were very taken by the wonderful work done here and I vowed to myself that I would do something to help.

So I'm fulfilling my promise to raise some money for this organisation by running upcoming races in and around Sydney detailed in the next couple of months;

14th August: City2surf run from Sydney CBD to Bondi beach
9th September: Jervis Bay half-marathon
October: Melbourne marathon or NSW marathon.

To make donations you can use the link below to pay by either paypal or credit card.  I have had to use this process because LHO is a non-Austrlian/International charity so the race organisers are unable to set up fundraising pages.  Once I have finished the last race in October I'll make the final donation to the organisation which will also minimize the bank fees.
